Greetings! I’m Rasmus, a recent graphic design graduate from Westerdals in Oslo. I’m passionate about exploring the dynamic realm of creative media, with particular fondness for editorial design, typography and identity design. With a love for solving visual puzzles, my dedication lies in creating functional and eye-catching solutions. Guided by this goal, I’m continuously expanding my toolkit and honing my skills to captivate attention with fresh, innovative approaches.

Outside of design, I’ve explored various artistic mediums, like architecture, visual arts, music and dance, enriching my creative perspective. The interplay between these diverse forms of media, and how they communicate together fascinates me, serving as inspiration in my work. When design isn’t occupying my time, I’m often found rubbing elbows with pals, or enjoying quality time with my headphones!

Struktur

Font System /  Design

Architecture

2024

Struktur is a typographic system inspired by the well known swiss-french architect Le Corbusier's “Modulor” – a modular architectural system that integrates the golden ratio, relating to human dimensions, facilitating an efficient design process through standardization of harmonically proportioned components.

By developing a system that adheres to the antique mathematical principles that inspired Le Corbusier, while also aligning with the proportions commonly found in typography, Struktur enables a comprehensive exploration of the interplay between mathematics, modularity, and the type design process.

The use of this typographic system is exemplified through the creation of two fonts, both being a part of the Struktur Glyphs superfamily. These fonts are crafted by adopting the geometric simplicity characteristic of modern and neoclassical architecture. Additionally, they draw inspiration from the architectural epochs and typographic designs of the era, encouraging reflection of the historical context.

Apal Sideri
Identity / Packaging

Hard Cider

2023

In 1769, six elegant silver neck rings from the Viking Age were found under a large stone at Sæbø farm by the wife of then farm owner Hans Dahl. Over 250 years later, Dan Olav Sæbø founded Apal Sideri, which the very next year would reach the top in the World Cider Awards with its “Sølvsider” named after those same rings.

With the need for a new identity and packaging design, they approached ANTI for assistance, and as an intern I had the opportunity to be involved in this project from the very beginning. I participated as designer in the overall design process, together with a great team of people at ANTI. The trust placed in me as an intern is something I greatly appreciate, and it was an incredibly educational experience.

European Cup Finals 2024
Logo

Alpine Skiing

2023

During my internship at ANTI, I also got the opportunity to work on designing the logo for the European Cup Finals 2024 held in Hafjell and Kvitfjell. This competition holds significant importance within international alpine sports, serving as a platform where emerging talents compete at a high level to display their skills and potential.

The logo design draw inspiration from the essence of the sport; speed, precision and the majestic mountain landscapes that characterize the event's venues. Made to be versatile, functioning effectively both independently and as part of the overarching identity created by ANTI for World Cup Kvitfjell.

Obskur
Editorial Design

The Unknown

2022

Obskur is a pop-scientific magazine made during the subject of editorial design. We humans are curious beings, and most of us are in some sense interested by the unknown, be that mysteries, extraterrestrial encounters, or existential questions. Embracing a minimalist design philosophy, Obskur prioritizes its content, allowing the intriguing and enigmatic subjects it covers to take center stage.

The debut issue of Obskur focuses on the ancient and enigmatic Olmec civilization, presenting a concise yet comprehensive exploration in the format of a zine. This approach appeals to the modern preference for fast-paced, short-form content, ensuring an engaging and accessible experience that resonates with readers curious about exploring the unknown.

Planters Bevissthet

Identity, Plant

Consciousness

2023

UiO's Klima- og Miljøfestival (UKMF) is an annual event focused on climate and environmental issues through lectures and activities. This year's theme, plant consciousness, explores the controversial idea of plants being conscious, changing our perception of life on Earth and our relationship with it, encouraging a deeper understanding of our connection to nature.

Together with two fellow students, Lord Proctor and Victoria Kristiansen, we created an identity that brings plants into the timeframe of humans, while at the same time reflecting the colorful diversity of plant life on earth. By using animation, and the experimental tool Touchdesigner we made interactive elements, which aim to build a bridge of relatability between humans and our fellow green friends.

Logo Archive Norway

Preservation Project

Norwegian Logos

2022 - t.d.

LogoArchive Norway, part of the broader LogoArchive family, is a dedicated preservation initiative committed to research and digitization of Norwegian logos from the 1900s. The primary objective of this project is to illuminate and preserve an overlooked aspect of Norway's rich cultural heritage, ensuring that these valuable pieces of our history are not forgotten.

Engaging in this project has been enlightening, productive in connecting with some of the most interesting people I’ve met in the industry, as well as helping broadening my understanding of research. It has also given me opportunities in working with clients, like during my internship at Bielke&Yang when I restored the logo for HÅG by Bruno Oldani which had been distorted over time.

Collab Promo

2024

Heymat and Sight Unseen recently launched their collaboration, a collection of various rugs that are more than just floor decor. The rugs are a tribute to iconic female furniture designers, celebrating their vision and legacy.

When interning at Bielke&Yang, I was fortunate to work on 3D and motion for the promotion of this collaboration. This experience allowed me to contribute to the showcasing of a unique and artistic qualities of the collection. The project was done in collaboration with fellow intern Kristine Kapstad, who was responsible for creating the promo combining my renders with other components.

Square Gallery

Visual Arts

2022 - t.d.

Square Gallery is a digital gallery that captures my continuous exploration of various media, forms of expression, and atmospheric elements. This virtual space serves as a canvas for my creative journey, allowing me to experiment and dabble in new media and expressions, from the abstract to the more literal.

A distinctive feature of Square Gallery is the integration of music. I believe this adds a profound and immersive dimension to the experience, enriching the sensory impact. Therefore, each piece is accompanied by a carefully selected sonic element, which creates a harmonious blend of sight and sound.

MyAnita
Identity

Patient Portal

2023

At the end of the spring semester in 2023, I had the opportunity to develop a complete brand identity independently, thanks to a recommendation from a friend to the managing director of MyAnita. They aim to consolidate various health-related services that you, I, and everyone else use, all in one place. Currently, they have agreements with Oslo Tannlegesenter and other smaller dental clinics.

MyAnita strives to be a service focused on the individual, designed to be easy to use and thus not unnecessarily complicated. This is reflected in the brand identity, which emphasizes simple elements and clean surfaces, also facilitating an easier process of implementation. I'm also pleased to have the opportunity to continue influencing the project's implementation going forward.

Animation

Parking & Serving

2023

Based on the illustrations by Oda Wahl at Bielke&Yang, I had the opportunity to create some animations for Via Vika, a shopping center in Oslo, focusing on their parking and food service areas. This was my first time working with animation, and the entire process was educational and exciting. Although the animations were ultimately not used, I am very pleased with the results given my previous inexperience with motion.

Skåne Grotesk

Font Design

Skåne

2023

Skåne Grotesk was my first encounter with type design and is a tribute to my favorite place. Skåne is a region in southern Sweden, where my maternal ancestors have settled. During the self-chosen design project, I knew I wanted to create a typeface that reflects Skåne's rich history. This project is still not finished, as I plan to revisit it during my yearly trip to Skåne this summer.

The goal of the project was to create a set of minuscules that capture the essence of one of Skåne's most unique characteristics. This area is renowned for its dense concentration of castles, a legacy from the Danish nobility that once ruled there. The typeface is inspired by the contrasts between the hard and the soft aspects to be found in the architecture.
